Larry said he has someone interested in converting a Chevy cavalier. Ken mentioned that they are working on a Cavalier conversion at Seminole State College where he teaches. They are using 18 - 8 volt batteries with four under the hood and 14 in the trunk. They are also working on a gasoline drag racer. Larry mentioned he would like the club to do an electric drag racer. Ken mentioned that there is a local company that builds drag racing frames.
Larry feels that the Daytona Beach Spring Car Show and Swap Meet March 25 -27 should be the major annual event for the CFEVA. He has arranged for us to have 5 spaces at the show. He said we need to bring the electric car to this event to raise awareness of the public about electric vehicles. Show times are 8 AM to 5PM except Sunday which is 8 AM to 2PM. We plan to have a meeting at the show around 11 AM on Sunday before we leave. Anyone who plans to bring a car for display must register.
Larry mentioned his desire to have a meeting in February in Winter haven. Will suggested the February meeting should be at the Daytona event in March.
Will felt we should discuss our purpose and that it should be posted on the web site. After some discussion it was agreed that Al Lococo would put something together for the web site using the national EAA as a model and being sure to include as goals; to inform public and promote charging infrastructure.
Larry spoke of obtaining sponsors for club events. Will talked about opening a checking account for the club. There was talk of incorporating, but Al suggested it might not be necessary since we may be covered by national incorporation. Will is going to look into this.
Larry said meetings should be held the Last Sunday of each month.
Al made a motion to adjourn, Ken seconded it.
